Characterization of waste - Leaching behaviour test - Percolation simulation test

Scope

This European Standard specifies a test method for determining the release of constituents from a waste into the aqueous solution in contact with the waste under dynamic conditions. The method is a once-through column leaching test. The experimental conditions, as specified in this European Standard, are aiming at simulating the leaching of inorganic constituents from granular materials in a scenario under local steady state conditions. For this reason a continuous v vertical upflow percolation is used, where the column is water saturated.
