Road Transport and Traffic Telematics - Dedicated short-range communication - Physical integration with the vehicle of On Board Units (OBU) for Electronic Fee Collection (EFC)

Scope

The standard will define all relevant attributes of a non-metallised communication window in metallised car windscreens to ensure the correct functioning of OBUs for Electronic Fee Collection, as well as define their values. Examples of parameters to be considered are: the position of the non-metallised window (behind which the OBU is placed), including a (maximum) tolerance; the (minimum) size of the non-metallised window; the (minimum) distance between the non-metallised window and the vehicle's body; the (minimum) volume provided behind the non-metallised window.
