Application of EMF standards to multi-radio and combined products CLC/prTR 50734

Scope

This document explains the application of harmonised and other standards to multi-radio and combined products to demonstrate conformity with the essential requirements laid down in article 3.1a (health and safety of persons and domestic animals and safety of property) of the Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU (RED). In particular this document addresses:
- the EMF conformity assessment of this type of product, including how to make use of EMF assessments already performed on each constituent product of the multi-radio or combined product and to identify the additional assessment necessary;
- the selection of the exposure limits for general public or for workers and test conditions.
The type of product covered by the present document is a product consisting of the combination of two or more products where at least one of them is a radio equipment as defined in the RED.
Examples of products to be covered by the present document include, but are not limited to, a combination of radio products in one radio product, combination of radio and non-radio product, WLAN enabled domestic appliance, radio controlled lighting system, etc.
