Glass in building - Determination of the bending strength of glass - Part 6: Test of the edge strength (four point bending – edgewise) prEN 1288-6

Scope

This European Standard specifies a method for the determination of the edge strength of flat glass for the use in buildings.
This test method is only applicable to flat glass with a nominal thickness of 3 mm to 25 mm. The test method specified in this standard does not apply to the testing of laminated glass and insulating glass units.
The strengths determined with this method apply to the condition of the edge at the time of the test.
