Hotels, Accommodation, Restaurant and Catering services (HORECA) are an important segment of the Tourism Sector and accounts for an important percentage of GDP in many countries. European (CEN) and international standards (ISO) support the increased quality, environmental performance, business continuity and resilience, risk management or food safety of accommodation and restaurant companies.

According to Eurostat, the accommodation and food services sector recorded value-added of EUR 240.4 million in the EU in 2018 and employed almost 10.7 million persons. Almost 1.9 million enterprises operated in the EU’s accommodation and food services sector before COVID-19. The post-pandemic era is full of opportunities for Hotels, Accommodation, Bars, Restaurant and Catering companies if a company is able to differentiate its offer and position itself as a safe and quality service provider.
