Harmonization Document

Scope

This standard specifies the requirements for the installation and initial verification of all kinds and sizes of illuminated signs with light-sources with a nominal voltage up to AC 1 000 V and DC 1 500 V, including the electrical components and wiring.

This standard covers installations used for signs, light-artworks and decorative purposes like architectural accent lighting. These installations are supplied from a low-voltage or extra-low-voltage source by means of a transformer, inverter, converter ballast or similar equipment. This standard applies to signs assembled on site. This standard does not apply to signs completely assembled in a factory where the relevant product standard applies (see EN 50107-3).
