Scope

The CEN BII workshop has developed a set of profiles to support interoperability in the pre- and post-award areas. The scope of BII is public procurement but the profiles apply as well to private trade since many private customers use tendering as good business practice. In such cases official notification of calls for tender and contracts is often not applicable.
The scope of BII catalogue profiles include processes that support the exchange, maintaining, deletion and subscription of catalogues. A catalogue contains specifications of products (goods and services) with their pricing. A catalogue is used to serve as a basis for ordering and all other following post-award processes as it is illustrated in Figure 1. This profile describes the process for sending the catalogue from a supplier to a customer, and for confirming the acceptance or rejection by the Customer.
