Scope

This European Standard specifies the procedure for classification of construction products used as components of normal building service installations, using data from fire resistance tests which are within the field of application of the relevant test method. Classification on the basis of extended application is not within the scope of this Standard.
a) Products for use in ventilation systems (excluding smoke and heat exhaust ventilation):
- ventilation ducts;
- fire dampers.
b) Products to be used as part of building services:
- electrical and fibre-optic cables and accessories;
- conduits and fire protective systems for cables;
- fire protection systems for essential service installations.
Relevant test methods which have been prepared for these products are listed in clause 2.
