Scope

Intermittently Connected Devices may carry complex information. The ENV 12018 identified a number of key areas where coding systems were necessary to allow the unambiguous communication of information between interoperable ICDs. The majority of these schemes are of limited size but need to be standardized at an international level in order to facilitate data interchange in a potentially seamless healthcare environment. A number of coding schemes have already been identified as being needed and are divided into two sections.
