Scope

A comprehensive collection of medical linguistic expressions of terms (preferred terms, synonyms) in the different languages for a given concept and a coding system to cover the content of medical messages in an unambiguous way. This should cover all of the noun phrases which may occur in a medical record (avoid also the adjectives and adverbes or qualifiers). For example it must cover all diseases, procedures, therapy, history, examination, investigations and future plans.
