Bar coding - Optical specification for bar code symbols

Scope

The standard should define illumination conditions (peak wavelengths/bandwidths) for bar code reading and methods for measurement of reflectance and for determination of contrast, and specify miniumum criteria for acceptability. It should provide guidelines for correlation of static and dynamic reflectance/contrast measurements as an aid to correct printing of symbols.
